Job Hunt Length: 105 days
I was able to get about 50hrs worth of paid non-committal tasks over this time period. Just enough for food, perhaps!
Not even the poop-scoop job at the animal daycare (that the students don’t want to do)was given to me; forget the babysitting or any other task involving more responsibility, those are for the young students who may have TONS of theory, but no experience whatsoever! This is the world we live in, YOUTH seems to be the ultimate criterion!
My questions regarding what is hindering my job search:
1-Is it the age factor?
2-Is it the fact that The Resume contains too much intellectual activity for the present job search? One would think that past experience such as nursing would be beneficial to anyone needing a childcare/elderly care worker! Parents want someone that’s wearing a certificate suit and they prefer to hire YOUNG students, who may have a brainful of theory, but no practical experience whatsoever!
YOUTH seems to be the ultimate criterion for job! Finding!
3- Is it the age factor?
4- Is it the age factor?
PS: I have nothing against youth; they are the future of our planet, but there is definitely something WRONG with a society that doesn’t give recognition to the lifetime experience of its middle aged and older citizens; not everyone is decrepit, and many of those who are could probably point a finger or 2 to our over medicated modern civilization!
